LEGO IDEAS REVEALS MEDIEVAL SET STARRING THE UNSUNG HERO OF THE MIDDLE AGES – THE HONOURABLE BLACKSMITH

LEGO Ideas has taken a leaf out of the history books with the design of its latest set, a charming Medieval Blacksmith’s house. The new set is based on an original design by an avid LEGO builder, which achieved over 10,000 votes from LEGO fans worldwide – giving it the green light to go into production.

LEGO superfan Clemens Fiedler originally submitted the concept to LEGO Ideas; a LEGO initiative that takes new ideas that have been imagined and voted for by fans and turns them into reality. The LEGO Ideas® Medieval Blacksmith set harks back to a time when cottage industries and artisans were the cornerstone of society and was brought to life by LEGO designers Wes Talbott and Austin Carlson.

When thinking of medieval times, the focus is normally on the kings and queens, knights and ladies, their castles and the battles between good and evil, but this new medieval set has an unexpected twist showing the unsung hero of those epic battles and adventures – the humble Blacksmith.

True to the era, the LEGO® Ideas Medieval Blacksmith set includes bold period design features from the timber framed walls to the gothic lattice windows, providing much intrigue and interest to fans of medieval architecture.

The LEGO® Ideas Medieval Blacksmith set is positioned in enchanting grounds, featuring a well-stocked cottage-style garden complete with squash patch and a gnarly apple tree, while the brickwork is tinged with moss for added realism.

The inside is set over three separate floors which are fully furnished and equipped with everything a medieval blacksmith would need. Interior items include stocks of raw materials, coal to keep the furnace hot, and a bellows complete with lightbrick to make the coals glow. The roof and top two levels can be removed for easy viewing of the inside.

Further setting the scene, the LEGO Ideas® Medieval Blacksmith set is completed with the inclusion of four minifigures: a blacksmith, an archer and two Black Falcon Knights with four swords, three shields and a halberd. Several animals can be found in the grounds outside the house, including a horse to pull the knight’s supply cart, a pet dog and a small tree frog.

Clemens Fiedler commented: “I love building classical house designs and honouring all the great attention to detail you can recreate with LEGO elements – especially medieval architecture styles, colours and design. I hope fellow LEGO fans will enjoy traveling back in time; sense the heat, sounds and smells from the forge and anvil and soak up the atmosphere of this classical creative craft as they build the set.”

Samuel Thomas Liltorp Johnson, Design Manager at the LEGO Group commented: “Designing the LEGO® Ideas Medieval Blacksmith set has been an exciting journey, taking us back hundreds of years to celebrate one of the true heroes of the Middle Ages. Telling the story of the blacksmith caught our imagination, and the rest was history.

“We loved the idea of creating a small blacksmith’s house on the outskirts of the medieval world, where every knight goes for a set of shining armour. Without doubt, fans will be fascinated by the workings of the forge, the architectural details and the characters they find there when they build this set.”

The new LEGO® Ideas Medieval Blacksmith set is the latest example of how the LEGO Group aims to inspire builders of all ages to build, rebuild and get excited by the process of creation.

The LEGO Medieval Blacksmith Set is on sale on LEGO.com and in LEGO Retail stores from 1st February.

The official visual of Night At The Museum MOC

Hi friends, i continue to work on the visuals for the MOC and the brickfilm. Do you like the poster create in real brick ? You can also support the project on Lego Ideas https://ideas.lego.com/projects/a8bf1477-bc79-4367-8c11-b0bb68dd0cb4

Night At The Museum, The Original on Lego Ideas

When night falls, the delirium begins !

Real reproduction of the New York City’s American Museum of Natural History, you have 3 fully playable levels to relive all the scenes of the film. The proportions of the facade and the grounds of the square are faithfully reproduced.
Building dimensions: Length 38.5cm x width 15cm, Height 35cm

Characters :
Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) the Guardian, Dr McPhee (Ricky Gervais) the Museum Director, the mummy of the pharaoh Ahkmenrah (Rami Malek), Theodore Roosevelt (Robin Williams) the equestrian wax statue of the 26th President of the United States, Sacagawea the Indian, the bronze statue of Christopher Columbus, Attila the Hun, the man of Neanderthals, the miniatures of Octavius and Jededdiah, Dexter the capuchin monkey, a dinosaur, the two statues of Anubis and of course the statue Moai from Easter Island Gum Gum!

The idea of this project:

I made the decision in February 2019 to start producing (brickfilm) stop motion animated films and for my first project I created this version of the brick film in December 2019. I had the opportunity to show the follow-up of my construction and share the photos on different media. Thank you to those who have commented and carefully followed my work …
It was quite natural that I thought from the start of this Night at the museum film for my first project because it brings together the historical Lego universes that we adore and that made us dream so much, the pharaohs and the pyramids, the dinosaurs and prehistory, Indians and cowboys and the cult soldiers of Fort Legoredo!

The typical building of the streets of New York can take place quite naturally in your City universe next to, for example, the Ghostbusters HQ, which is exactly the same height 35cm.

Playability:

For the purposes of my film which will soon be launched in production, everything had to be mobile and playable.
So the dinosaur is articulated, its neck and body can fully rotate, its mouth can open and have many expressions, its front legs move, its tail moves too.
The 2 statues of Anubis can turn their heads, many elements of the scenery can be easily moved and each level is playable.
Please support the project:

This real brick project that I loved to create took a long time to complete. I’ll be so glad you like it too. So thank you in advance for supporting me and sharing as much as possible!

Remember the motto of the film: “Everything comes to life !” so please support the project on Lego Ideas here https://ideas.lego.com/projects/a8bf1477-bc79-4367-8c11-b0bb68dd0cb4

LEGO edition of classic Nintendo Entertainment System™

The LEGO Group and Nintendo build on LEGO® Super Mario™ partnership with this new LEGO® Nintendo Entertainment System™ and 1980s-style TV that let adult fans recreate Super Mario Bros.™ gameplay and rekindle nostalgic NES memories.

The LEGO Group today announced a LEGO® Nintendo Entertainment System™ (NES) Building Kit for adults, letting grown-up fans create their own NES console with LEGO bricks. The new kit, the latest product of the LEGO Group and Nintendo partnership, offers a brick-built NES model packed with realistic details, including the accompanying 1980’s style LEGO television set, so nostalgic gamers and LEGO fans can recreate their favorite Super Mario Bros.™ childhood experiences.

Today’s announcement will let adult fans take a trip down memory-lane by building a mechanically functional version of an all-time favourite console with LEGO bricks. The new NES Building Kit will include a controller with a connecting cable and plug and even an opening slot for the Game Pak with a locking feature. The console also comes with a buildable retro TV, featuring a flat 8-bit Mario figure on the scrolling screen. Fans can scan an included action brick with LEGO® Mario™ from the LEGO Super Mario Starter Course, so he reacts to on-screen enemies, obstacles and power-ups just as he would have in the iconic Super Mario Bros. game.

“Super Mario has been a cherished figure in the gaming world for over thirty years now,” said Maarten Simons, Creative Lead on LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System™, the LEGO Group. “Many adults still fondly remember that first time they saw Mario leap across the small screen, even if the graphics were a lot simpler than they are today. With the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System, we’re letting them truly indulge in that nostalgia, recreating one of the most-loved consoles of all time so they can see the Super Mario from their childhoods once again – and even to share the experience of gaming in the 1980s with their own children.”

The LEGO Group and Nintendo announced their partnership earlier this year, bringing a fun-packed LEGO Super Mario universe to life through a Super Mario Starter Course set that exclusively features a LEGO Mario figure who displays a wide variety of instant reactions to movement, color and various action bricks. This entry point set was followed up on in May with a series of Power-Up Packs and in June with the announcement of a range of Expansion Sets and collectible Character Packs. All have been designed to build out the world of LEGO Super Mario, letting players unleash their creativity by building exactly the levels and challenges they want to see LEGO Mario and friends compete in.

This highly collectible NES building set is part of a range of inspirational LEGO models designed for discerning hobbyists, as they look for their next immersive challenge. The LEGO NES will be available exclusively from LEGO Retail Stores and LEGO.com from August 1st 2020. From 2021 it will be available also at other leading retailers around the world.

The full LEGO Super Mario product line also launches August 1st and will be available directly from LEGO Stores and www.LEGO.com as well as at leading retailers around the world.

The update was shared in a video posted by the LEGO Group and Nintendo earlier today and on the LEGO Super Mario website at www.LEGO.com/SuperMario.
